I’m a CTO / Senior Electrical Engineer / Engineering Fellow / Independent Consultant with a track record of leadership in telecommunications, IoT, video, and common platform design / architecture at the chip, board, system, and network levels. Over my 37 year career, I have served as lead architect on over 20 IoT, robotics, video, switching, access, and wireless products with total sales over $1 billion.

My expertise includes problem definition, requirements coordination, and translation of those requirements through architecture, implementation, and deployment. I understand the potential of advanced technologies and how to apply them to solve real-world problems. Effective communication is a particular strength, with the ability to interact with customers, developers, suppliers, executives, government officials, analysts, and the press. My strong track record of innovation includes over 120 US patents issued, over 20 additional patent ideas in process and numerous breakthrough products.

I am also a leader in standards bodies like the Industry IoT Consortium, IEEE, PICMG and SCOPE, where I have been involved in founding several key standards (including OpenFog, AdvancedTCA, AdvancedMC, MicroTCA), serving as CTO, and chairing several influential committees. I’ve lots of ideas for the future, and how to make it better through highly advanced telecommunications, robotics, network, and computational elements.
